Just in time for spring, another bicycle repair station and air pump have been installed on campus. This is the third station on campus and is located at the College of Law. The other two stations are located near the Main Library and Hospital Parking Ramp 4.
Repair stations are free to use and provide the tools necessary to perform basic repairs and maintenance; such as changing a flat tire or adjusting brakes.
The idea of having a station at the law school came from the Iowa Student Bar Association (ISBA) at the College of Law. “We have lots of students that bike to school each day, even during the winter and I know a lot of people would appreciate being able to work on their bike or air up their tires in the winter.” said Joe Nehring, Treasurer of ISBA.
Michelle Ribble, Commuter Programs Manager for Parking and Transportation, collaborated with ISBA and Gordon Tribbey, Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration for the College of Law, to acquire the station and air pump. The project was jointly funded between the ISBA—the law student government—and University of Iowa Parking and Transportation.
