CAMBUS has modified its cleaning procedures and processes in accordance with recommendations from the CDC, Federal Transit Administration, Iowa Department of Public Health, and UI Hospitals & Clinics. All surfaces from the bottom of the seat to the windows – including seats, walls, and windows – are sprayed with Virex II 256 each night. Virex II 256 is an EPA approved products that is effective against COVID-19. After spraying is complete, all hard surfaces are wiped with a clean towel or microfiber cloth. This process also includes cleaning air filters in the HVAC system.

The CDC also recommends every day preventative actions to help prevent spread of the virus and other germs, including washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Hand sanitizer has also been provided at the WCTC lobby entrance so riders can use hand sanitizer after exiting and before boarding.

Parking and Transportation’s operations are focused on supporting the critical operations of UI Hospitals & Clinics and the university. The department will continue to evaluate and modify cleaning processes and operations in accordance with recommendations from public health officials for the safety and well-being of the campus.
