How will I know when I receive a parking offer?
You will receive an email sent to your University email address notifying you of the offer. You have 7 days to accept the offer and obtain/exchange your parking permit.

University of Iowa employees that have a position that is classified as permanent and work half-time or greater are usually eligible for parking and the parking wait lists.

Parking permits are not transferrable and may not be used by any other person. This may result in citations and may also result in the revocation of parking privileges.

Student appeals are heard by the Student Appeals Committee-this is comprised of University of Iowa students that are independent of the Parking and Transportation Department.
How do I obtain a temporary disability parking accommodation?
The University has a formal process in place for temporary disability parking accommodations. The Physician form must be completed and turned into the Parking Office.
Can I pay for my employee parking permit through payroll deductions?
Qualifying employees that work over 50% time and are in a permanent appointment (paid monthly) are eligible for pre-tax payroll deductions.
The parking lot I normally park in is full, where should I park?
Drive to the nearest open surface lot and display your permit when parked.
I have a student decal permit-can I do a call in if I drove a different car?
Students with a valid parking permit in their name for the following areas can complete a call in: Finkbine (lot 65), Hawkeye Commuter (Lot 85), Hancher (lot 55), Law R permits, or Hawkeye Storage
What happens if I forget to display my employee parking placard?
Parking Services offers a courtesy program for permit holders who forgot to display their parking permit – the “Call-In” program.
