Driving on an (Icy) Bridge Over Troubled Waters?
Did you know that icy bridges cause more injuries and fatalities than tornadoes, lightning and floods combined every year? It is one of the more challenging winter driving situations. Too Cool to Fuel?
No one is too cool to fuel!! However, some folks may not know how to use our fuel island. To assist with that, Joe, has developed an online, video tutorial for training new staff and as a refresher for those who don’t fuel vehicles very often. View fuel island tutorial. Remember, our fuel island is open 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. Also, please remember that the Wright Express fuel cards will not work in the Iowa City/Coralville area. You must fuel at our fuel island when you are in town.
Do You Like Where’s Waldo??
With the implementation of the new Self-Service Portal, it may seem like a game of Where’s Waldo when you are trying to find the link to the Fleet Services requisition. Don’t worry, it is still there. When you bring up the dashboard, click on the link for “General Systems & Tools”. From there, look under the UI Systems box, and there is the Fleet Services Requisition!!
Honest Mike’s Used Cars
We have moved our sale page!! No, the eBay site was not destroyed by a tornado; we are now listing our vehicles on GovDeals. It is a similar site to eBay, but much easier for the Surplus staff to use. There are some things that make it better for you also. Surplus can attach documents to the listing, so you can look at the original window sticker to see exactly how the vehicle is equipped. Additionally, Surplus posts the work orders, so you can see the maintenance history of the vehicle. Lastly, Surplus can attach a video to the listing to get a better overall view of the vehicle. Make sure you bookmark it and check back frequently. We’ll begin listing more vehicles very soon.
Tire Blowout Tips
According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, tire blowouts cause more than 400 fatalities, over 10,000 injuries and 78,000 crashes every year. Automotive Fleet has published a list of tips to help you get through a tire blowout safely.
Do you Need a Pick Me Up?
When you are renting a vehicle from Fleet Services, let us pick you up!! All you have to do is call us an hour before you want picked up and we’ll be there for you. We can also take you back to your office if you drop off a vehicle for service.
Spring Break Hours
We will have normal business hours during the week of spring break, but we will be closed Saturday, March 9th and 16th. If you need a vehicle during these weekends, please make the reservation for the Friday before with a pickup time after 4pm. Also, in the notes section include the time you will actually be using the vehicle and that is when we will start the charges. Our normal Saturday hours will resume March 23rd.
