Deb Lorenz is Retiring

It is the end of an era!!  Deb, who has been with Fleet Services since 2005 is retiring on June 1.  She has been an essential contributor to Fleet Services success.  Her dedication, attention to detail and commitment to Fleet Services are only of few of the qualities that we will miss.  Please join us for a celebration recognizing Deb and sharing memories of her time at Fleet Services.  We will be hosting a retirement reception for Deb on Thursday, May 24 from 2-4 pm in the CAMBUS Maintenance Facility. Cake and refreshments will be served.

Fuel Cards are Expiring

Please check the glove box of your Fleet Services vehicle for the Wright Express fuel card.   If you have a card, please make sure the expiration date is 5/21.   If the expiration date is 5/18, that is this month and the card needs replaced ASAP.   Please bring the card to our office and we will exchange it.

Fuel Cards for Equipment

If you have a fuel card for a lawn mower, generator, boat motor, pump or other piece of equipment, those cards are expiring too!!  Please bring the old card to our office and we’ll exchange it.

Anyone Need a Compact Car for the Summer?

We have a customer that does not need their compact sedan for the summer.  So, it you have a short-term need for a vehicle this may work for you.  The cost would be $306 per month until July when the cost would change to $308 per month for FY 19.  If you are interested, please call our office and we can discuss the specifics.

FY 19 Rates Have Been Published

The FY 19 rates for Fleet Services have been set and published.  You can see them at our website or follow this link:  FY 19 Fleet Services Rates  Those who have vehicles independently priced vehicles can call our office for their FY 19 rate.  In the next several weeks, you will be receiving a letter from Fleet Services listing each individual vehicle with the FY 19 rate.  Additionally, a form will be included to verify the contact information and the MFK for FY 19.    Please return those so we can update our records.

Fleet Services is Looking for a Few Good People

As mentioned earlier, Deb Lorenz is retiring.  Additionally, one of our other staff members recently took another position closer to her home.  Therefore, we have two positions posted on the Job Line.  Deb’s position, the Management Services Supervisor is requisition 72740.  It closes on Tuesday, May 15.  Our other position, an Admin Services Coordinator is requisition 72731 and it closes Monday, May 14.  If you know someone who may be a good fit, ask that person to apply!!

Honest Mike’s Used Cars

It is that time of year again where we are auctioning off the vehicles we are taking out of service.   I just approved the listing of a 2008 Chevrolet Colorado with a topper that has very low mileage.  We will also be listing a 2013 Ford, E350 15-passenger van in the near future.  All of our vehicles are auctioned through Surplus on eBay.  Check it out, Fleet Services Sale Vehicles.

Deb’s Safety Corner

It seems like a no brainer, but do you know when to use your headlights?  In Iowa, if your windshield wipers are on, your headlights should be too.  Also, your lights should be on during adverse weather like snow, sleet, fog and smoke, especially during the daylight.  Also, use your headlights just before sunset and just after sunrise to increase your visibility.

Fleet Factoid

Since January 1, 2015 Fleet Services has sold over 280 vehicles through Surplus and only 13 vehicles through other sales channels.
