In advance of the winter weather season, Parking and Transportation is providing a reminder of our policies and procedures to reduce the impacts of winter weather to campus. We encourage all on the University of Iowa campus to follow Parking and Transportation's Twitter accounts – @uiowacambus and @uiowaparktrans – to receive weather alerts and service impacts.

Snow Removal Policy

University of Iowa Parking and Transportation is committed to providing a safe and accessible campus during inclement weather. Parking and transportation provides 24-hour coverage with three regular work shifts to assure a prompt response to winter weather. In addition to internal staff, external contractors are employed to plow and haul snow. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as our crews make every effort to keep university parking lots and ramps clear during and after winter storms.

CAMBUS Severe Weather Policy

CAMBUS will maintain service during severe weather within reasonable and safe practices. CAMBUS will continue to run during ice and snow events, however significant delays are to be expected. If ice and/or snow events are so severe that University classes and other operations are closed, CAMBUS may reduce or suspend service.
