Bike shelter construction begins near Hospital Parking Ramp 1
October 31, 2016
Two new bike shelters will be constructed south of Hospital Parking Ramp 1 beginning Monday, October 31 in a joint project between UI Hospitals and Clinics and UI Parking and Transportation. The bike shelters will provide better accommodations for persons accessing UI Hospital and Clinics via bicycle and protect bicycles from the elements.
Temporary bicycle racks were installed Friday, September 23 on the east side of Hospital Parking Ramp 1 for cyclists to use during construction. The new bike shelter construction and installation should be complete by January 2017.
The majority of work will be completed outside normal working hours to limit the impacts of construction. If exiting after 6:00 p.m. or entering before 7:00 a.m. you may encounter some construction related activity and noise, but activities should not impact your ability to use Hospital Parking Ramp 1. Thank you for your patience during construction.
