CAMBUS Announces Changes to Improve Services for Fall 2016 Semester
August 17, 2016
The University of Iowa Parking and Transportation Department monitors and reviews our services to tackle the needs of our busy and expanding campus. Today we announce several CAMBUS routes will make changes to improve their level of service beginning the Fall 2016 Academic Semester. Service changes vary and include increased frequency of service, new routes, or expanding the route to cover additional areas of campus.
Effective August 22, 2016 services changes will begin for the following routes: AM Hawkeye Express Route, Hawkeye Hospital Route, Hawkeye Interdorm Route, Interdorm Route, North Hospital Shuttle Route, and a new PM Hawkeye Express Route.
Changes will directly improve reliability of service for riders at or around the following locations:
Aspire at West Campus, Stop 3106
Finkbine Parking Lot, Stop 2030 and 2031 (Parking Lot 65)
Hawkeye Parking Lot, Stop 3125 (Parking Lot 85)
Students, Interdorm Route
Customer feedback, employee led continuous improvement, and student government requests are vital to addressing the needs of our riders and understanding their experience. The service changes implemented will address some concerns or suggestions voiced by riders but also help service adapt to additional demands created by housing development and construction.
CAMBUS is the University of Iowa’s student operated, no fare public transit system that provides fixed-route service throughout campus and demand-response paratransit services for qualifying persons. CAMBUS works in collaboration with other Parking and Transportation Department units to provide and support access and mobility for students, faculty, staff, patients, and visitors.
