CAMBUS Driver of the Year 2016-2017
June 9, 2017
CAMBUS announces Josh W. as the CAMBUS Driver of the Year 2016 – 2017. The award was received from the Iowa Public Transit Administration. In the nomination CAMBUS supervisors and management stated, “Josh has exceeded all attendance and work place expectations while having no preventable accidents. We thank Josh for setting a high bar for attitude, professionalism, and willingness to help out at CAMBUS.”
On average, 160 student-employees operate our campus bus service. Their responsibilities begin with driving but can grow to include training, dispatching, assisting with maintenance, and supervising. Josh has been driving for CAMBUS for just over 3 years and calls Dubuque, Iowa home.
Q: What did you think when you were told you were the recipient?
I was a little surprised to receive the award. I felt like I was just doing my job. Safety is something I take very seriously and I strive to always respect the bus.
Q: What is the best part of working at CAMBUS?
Compared to previous jobs I liked not having to wear a uniform and that within reason you get to listen to your preferred music or podcasts. There are a lot of opportunities at CAMBUS to meet people and our shared training experience and daily work make it easy to understand and respect fellow employees. That team morale makes the job easier.
We congratulate Josh W. on receiving this recognition and offer our thanks for providing over three years of service to our campus.
