The many entertainment and active-lifestyle events hosted in Iowa City and at the University of Iowa continue to make the community an ideal community to live, work, and study. The weekend of April 27 several events will be hosted in and around the campus. Traffic may be heavy due the events. Road closures may require temporary re-routes and detours. Please allow extra time to reach your destinations.

Friday, April 27

Old Dominion will headline a concert at University of Iowa’s Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Ticket proceeds will benefit the university's AYA Cancer Program. Event parking is available in nearby parking lots beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 27. 

Sunday, April 29

The inaugural Run CRANDIC participants will finish at Krause Family Plaza on the south side of Kinnick Stadium. The plaza will be closed to all permit holders and public between 6 p.m. Friday, April 27 through 6 p.m.Sunday, April 29 to facilitate the event and preparations. Runners will approach Kinnick Stadium from the north along Hawkins Drive and Lot 43 N Drive.

The Old Capitol Criterium bike race will close several roads around the Pentacrest on Sunday, April 29. Several CAMBUS stops will be temporarily closed and riders may board and alight at temporary stops. The bike race loops around the historic Old Capitol using Washington Street, Madison Street, Jefferson Street, Clinton Street, Iowa Avenue, Dubuque Street and connects again on Washington Street.
