Parking at Oakdale Research Park to be managed by Parking and Transportation beginning March 2020
February 12, 2020
University of Iowa Parking and Transportation will take over management and maintenance of the parking lot closest to the new Integrated Services Center building (Lot 201) at the Oakdale Research Park beginning in March. In addition to providing dedicated maintenance from permit revenue, enforcing the space as a reserved parking lot will ensure employee and business parking is accommodated during primary business hours.
A parking permit will be required from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays beginning March 30, 2020. Signage will indicate where a parking permit is required. Any university day-time parking permit—student, faculty/staff, emeritus— is valid in Lot 201.
The monthly rate for the Parking Lot 201 faculty/staff permit is $17 per month and includes Night Weekend Privileges. Employees working at the Integrated Services Center will receive complete details and instructions prior to being assigned to this work location.
Parking Lot 201 will also include visitor parking and service vehicle parking. University and state vehicles may also use Parking Lot 201.
Future of parking at Oakdale Research Park
Other lots at the Oakdale Research Park will transition to being managed and maintained by Parking and Transportation. A comprehensive review of the existing parking network is underway, and details of any future changes to parking will be announced as they become available.
The parking lots at the Oakdale Research Park are now managed and maintained by Facilities Management, which relies on general fund dollars to cover costs. Under management by Parking and Transportation, revenue from parking permits will be used to maintain and invest in the infrastructure.
In collaboration with Facilities Management, Parking and Transportation also is reviewing the maintenance needs of the Oakdale Research Park campus. The department is aware that institutional roadways in Oakdale Research Park require repair and is actively working on a plan to address immediate and long-term needs.
