University of Iowa Parking and Transportation has redeveloped the Van Pool Management System and My Van Pool portal because the previous system language has become obsolete. All the improvements made will help quicken the waitlist process and make program membership more efficient. The improved management system and member portal is available for faculty and staff use beginning Feb. 23, 2021. 

UI Parking and Transportation’s Commuter Program developed the new system in collaboration with the team at UI Finance and Business Information Services. In addition to creating a modern system, Commuter Programs automated many parts of the waitlist process to improve the system for both the operations team and members. The Commuter Programs team will continue to administrate the program and focus on offering member support. 

The My Van Pool user portal has new features available digitally and an improved user experience and member profile. The enhanced systems in many cases remove Commuter Programs administration as the go-between and the streamlined process allows faculty and staff to take an active role in their commute.
