CAMBUS drivers compete in 'bus roadeo' June 2022

On June 26, CAMBUS drivers competed in a “bus roadeo” - an obstacle course for buses. The CAMBUS annual bus roadeo is a friendly competition amongst student staff to test their driving skills in a ten-part obstacle course. Three student employees, Darshaun Smith, Neil Smithson, and Ben Koch, also qualified to move on to the state roadeo to compete against bus drivers from transit agencies across the state of Iowa.

New electric vehicle charging station installed at Parking Lot 21, Pappajohn Business Building

University of Iowa’s CAMBUS recognizes Rose Arrigoni as the 2022 Driver of the Year. Transit service providers across Iowa annually each nominate an employee to be honored by the Iowa Public Transit Association (IPTA) for their commitment to providing safe and friendly service.

CAMBUS service for summer 2022

CAMBUS will operate summer service Saturday, May 14, 2022 through Sunday, August 19, 2022. During summer, some routes will have decreased service or will not operate due to different campus needs, decreased demand, and available staffing. Academic service resumes Saturday, August 20.

Mask mandate lifted for CAMBUS

Face masks are no longer required when riding CAMBUS. The new guidance follows the April 18 federal court ruling against the mask requirement on public transportation. However, with COVID-19 still present in our community, face masks remain an effective tool for protecting yourself and others against the virus.
