Parking and Transportation student employees participate in UI Dance Marathon
“This is my first year going to the big event,” said Jordan Miller who is majoring in Political Science and works as a Transit Operator with CAMBUS.
Many of the large events that occur on campus require coordination with the Parking and Transportation Department. Cashiering parking lots and providing shuttle transportation are the most common ways we facilitate events on campus and these services would not be possible without our student employees. They are gifted students, dedicated workers, and great people who care about and volunteer in their community.
Miller applied and began working for CAMBUS a little over a year ago. “I applied at CAMBUS because I thought driving a bus would be a fun and cool way to earn money.”
Each year a few of our student employees make their fundraising goals to attend the Big Event for University of Iowa’s Dance Marathon. For Miller this is his second year fundraising for Dance Marathon and his first time attending the Big Event.
“Hearing the stories from the families about how Dance Marathon helped them motivated me to want to raise money and participate,” says Miller. “My local DM kiddo is graduating this year!”
Congratulations to all the dancers and families celebrating this year. Learn more about Dance Marathon at University of Iowa: Dance Marathon.
