Student Hourly Meter (SHM) Permit
Student Hourly Meter (SHM) parking permits are valid August 16 — August 15.
The Student Hourly Meter (SHM) parking permit is a free permit that allows currently registered College of Law students to park in a designated area within the Myrtle Parking Lot at a reduced rate of $0.70 per hour.
Displaying Your Permit: The parking permit sticker must be displayed while parked in the designated area of the Myrtle Parking Lot. The parking permit is transferable between vehicles registered with the university to your name. Peel off the clear facing of the sticker by bending it at the slit and affix the sticker to the inside, lower front windshield of the driver’s side. The parking permit sticker must be completely affixed to be valid.
Using Your Permit: Park in the designated area within the Myrtle Lot and pay the hourly fee via our mobile payment services, Passport Parking. More information is available at transportation.uiowa.edu/ParkingApp. Law Student Hourly Meter (SHM) permits are not valid in Parking Lot 48. Do not park in Parking Lot 48 if the reserved spaces for Law Student Hourly Meter (SHM) permits are full. You would be responsible to find alternative public parking.

There is no cost for the permit. Students choosing the Student Hourly Meter (SHM) Permit instead pay hourly for the time they are parked.
Departmental Business Placards:
Departmental Business Placards are NOT valid when used with a Student Hourly Meter (SHM) Permit.
