University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Parking

There are several conveniently located parking facilities near UI Hospitals & Clinics.

 

Patient Parking 

Beginning December 2019, patients will be provided a parking pass for free parking. Learn more about the new patient pass by visiting this page: Patient Parking Pass.  

Patients attending their health care appointment are provided a parking pass for free parking. Patients receive the Patient Parking Pass either at check-in for a clinic visit or at discharge for an outpatient procedure or inpatient stay. 

Please take a cashier’s ticket from the ticket dispenser upon entering a facility. When exiting, present both the cashiers ticket and the Patient Parking Pass.

 

University Employees

University employees attending their health care appointment are also provided a parking pass for free parking.  Employees attending a healthcare appointment will receive the Patient Parking Pass either at check-in for a clinic visit or at discharge for an outpatient procedure or inpatient stay.

  • Take a cashiers ticket when parking in a hospital parking ramp to attend your healthcare appointment.
    The Patient Parking Pass is only valid with a cashiers ticket. 
  • When exiting, present both the cashiers ticket and the Patient Parking Pass.
  • When parking as a patient (as opposed to employee parking), do not use your parking access card when entering/exiting the hospital parking ramps. 

Hospital Parking Ramps 1, 2, 4, and Family Care Center between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM Monday – Friday are for patient and visitor parking. Displaying the Patient Parking Pass will prevent employees from receiving a citation. Learn more about the Patient Parking Pass

Forgot to display the Patient Parking Pass? If you don't display the Patient Parking Pass, you may receive a citation for parking in a patient facility. The citation can be easily waived. Complete the simple form included with the ticket and turn into the cashier upon exit.

 

Visitor Parking

Visitors are not eligible for free parking, but a Visitor Parking Pass Booklet can limit the cost to park when visiting a patient.

Free parking is available for UIHC visitors in the Hawkeye Commuter Lot on the west campus and linked to the Hospital by frequent, no-fare transit service by CAMBUS.  A temporary parking permit is required to park there. Hours of operation

All facilities are opened twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and offer convenient pay-in-lane machines. 

Hospital Ramps 1, 2, 3 and 4 are cashiered twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

The Family Care Center Lot is cashiered from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. 

Any of these facilities may be occasionally closed for maintenance, special events and emergencies.
