Special events, camps, and conferences are an integral part of the campus environment. Advance planning with Parking and Transportation Department can ensure a smooth experience for your guests by avoiding citations and other issues.
Parking can be limited to specific areas based on space availability, time of year, construction projects, camp or conference location, type of activity, other events taking place, number of attendees and other factors.

Parking, including accessible parking, for Iowa athletic events is managed by the Iowa Athletics Department. Visit the Hawkeye Sports webpage to see parking information and maps or call Iowa Athletics Ticket Office 319-335-9323 or 1-800-IA-HAWKS.
Employee parking on game days
Permit holders directly impacted by game day parking (lot closures, relocations, etc) will receive direct email communication from Parking and Transportation about where to park during the event. Details are also available for all employees to review on this website.
Annual Campus Events
For each University Residence Hall, accommodations are made for short-term loading/unloading. There are multiple options for parking after unloading during move-in/move-out. Options include hourly meter parking, hourly ramp/garage parking, side streets near campus and more. For more information, visit the University Housing website.
Special parking accommodations are made for commencement ceremonies taking place during normal business hours on campus. Parking for commencement is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
