Parking has implemented several changes to decrease the spread of COVID-19. Service and operations will continue to be adjusted as information or circumstances change. Parking Services processes reflect guidance from the CDC and the University of Iowa Critical Incident Management Team.

Customer Information and Policies

Social distancing and Personal protective equipment

  • The Parking Services office will limit customers to no more than 4 persons at a time.
  • Customers must wear a face mask while in the Parking Services office.
  • All employees will wear a face covering in common areas at all Parking and Transportation facilities and when interacting with customers.
  • A transparent shield has been installed at the customer service desk. 
  • Hourly parking facilities are collecting payment through the pay station machines in the exit lanes. A Parking Operations employee is available to assist while maintaining distance.

Cleaning practices

  • Surfaces in the Parking Office are frequently cleaned.
  • Hand sanitizer is available in customer service areas as supplies allow.
  • Surfaces in parking facilities are cleaned and disinfected twice a day - including pay station machines, door handles, railings, and elevator buttons.

Parking and Transportation’s operations are focused on supporting the critical operations of the University of Iowa and UI Hospitals & Clinics. Operations may quickly change.
