Alternative Transportation Breakfast to be hosted May 17

The Engineering Staff Advisory Council is hosting an Alternative Transportation Breakfast on Wednesday, May 17 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., at the breezeway between the Seamans and Lindquist Centers. Parking and Transportation and other campus partners are participating in the event to help share information about options and encourage alternative transportation. The free event will provide a “pit stop” grab-and-go breakfast and bike checkups by Geoff’s Bike and Ski.

The Alternative Transportation Breakfast is an event intended to raise awareness about ways other than a personal vehicle to commute to work. Parking and Transportation provides or supports several alternative commute methods, including biking, walking, Employee Van Pool, carpool, and bus passes through U-PASS or 380 Express. These methods can encourage physical activity, savings in gas and parking, reduce your environmental footprint, and combat congestion on the roads.

All are welcome, and participants are encouraged to participate by using alternative forms of transportation on this day. The event coincides with Bike to Work Week, which is intended to promote the use of bicycles in work commutes.
