The university provides a couple nighttime transportation services to members of the campus community. Services provide a variety of options for students, faculty, and staff based upon your destination and the time of day.
The timeline summarizes transportation options between the hours of 6 p.m. and 5 a.m. weekdays.

Travel to UI parking lots
CAMBUS On-Demand Shuttle
CAMBUS On-Demand Shuttle is available to all riders and primarily provides service to and from commuter parking lots weekday from 8:45 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. - except for university holidays. Request rides to on-campus destinations using the CAMBUS Now app.
During break periods, service is also provided to bus stops throughout the main campus. During summer, On-Demand Shuttle operates on weekends from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in addition to the evening service.
Guest Services Late Evening Staff Shuttle
The late evening shuttle van is available to UI Health Care staff on weekdays after 6:30 p.m. and provides service to and from employee vehicles.
The shuttle van departs from the West Campus Transportation Center between 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. After 11 p.m., the shuttle departs from the UI Health Cares Main Entrance Lobby until 1 a.m. The shuttle service is provided upon request after 1 a.m. by hospital security or Environmental Services on request.

Nite Ride
A free late night transportation service available to all students, faculty, and staff between the hours of 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
CAMBUS late evening fixed-route options
Riders can use the Transit app to view all active routes in real-time.
During fall and spring academic sessions, CAMBUS operates fixed-route services until 12:30 a.m. on these routes:
During break periods, fixed-route service ends at approximately 9 p.m. For service after 9 p.m., please see On-Demand Shuttle services.
Use the CAMBUS service calendar to view dates during academic breaks where there is no CAMBUS service.

Students and employees are encouraged to play an active role in their personal safety by making use of the numerous free services offered by the UI Office of Campus Safety.
Rave Guardian (mobile app)
A free mobile app that allows users to set a safety timer for their walk home, text anonymous tips to the UI Police Department, and call UI Police with the touch of a button. Sign up with your UI email address for access to the campus network.
