The University of Iowa Cambus transit system is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in or denied the benefits of its services on the basis of race, color, or national origin, as provided by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended.
Any person who believes they have been discriminated against on the basis of race, color, or national origin by the University of Iowa Cambus transit system (herein referred to as “Cambus”) may file a Title VI complaint by submitting the following form. Complaints must be filed within 180 calendar days of the alleged incident.
Please note that all communication in the complaint process will be conducted via email unless the person filing the complaint requests otherwise.
After Cambus receives a complaint, we review it for completeness and if the complaint is within our jurisdiction. If the form is incomplete or outside our jurisdiction, we notify the complainant. If additional information is requested, the complainant must provide that information within 14 calendar days, otherwise the complaint is closed. Only complete complaints within our jurisdiction are investigated.
Cambus will finish its investigation within 90 days and inform the complainant of the results and any further actions.
If the complainant wishes to appeal the outcome of a complaint, they have 60 days after the communication of findings to do so.
A person may file a complaint directly with the Federal Transit Administration, at FTA Office of Civil Rights, 1200 New Jersey Avenue SE, Washington, DC 20590.

Explain as clearly as possible what happened and why you believe you were discriminated against. Describe all persons who were involved. If known, provide the names of all Cambus employees involved or a description of the Cambus employees. Include names and contact information of any witnesses.
