Advertising options on CAMBUS vehicles

Bus wraps (exterior)

CAMBUS currently offers exterior advertising ("bus wraps") to university departments.

Interior posters/PSA's

CAMBUS as of July 1, 2021 has discontinued its public service announcement (PSA) poster program and advertising program. The process to administer, install, and remove posters requires considerable resources. Between 2020 and 2021 there was a decline in poster submissions, and those employee resources were reallocated to critical service tasks. At this time, CAMBUS cannot continue the poster program.

The decision to discontinue the poster program may be revisited at a later time. The display space in buses will be used for Parking and Transportation service information only.

Bus wraps

CAMBUS currently offers exterior advertising ("bus wraps") to university departments for a monthly fee. Departments are responsible for the design, installation, and removal of bus wraps. CAMBUS can provide information on vendors for the production, installation, and removal of bus wraps.

Design considerations

All designs must be approved by the Office of Strategic Communications and CAMBUS. Design considerations and restrictions include (but are not limited to):

  1. Wraps may not cover more than 50% of each window

  2. Wraps may not cover decals required by law

  3. Requestors have the option to incorporate required decals in the wrap design and are encouraged to do so for design integrity.

  4. If required decals are not included, CAMBUS will apply decals over wrap where necessary.

  5. Wraps that cover any CAMBUS logos or bus numbers must incorporate CAMBUS logos or bus numbers in the design of the wrap.

  6. Wraps may not cover the rear bumper

  7. Wraps may not cover taillights, reflectors, or four-way hazard lights

  8. Wraps may not cover any vents or screens

  9. Wraps may not interfere with windows or vents from opening

Display time

Wraps must be displayed for a minimum of 6 months and may be displayed for up to 12 months. Interested parties should consider the length of time the wrap will be installed and begin the inquiry and design process well in advance of any time-sensitive advertising.
