CAMBUS staffing update

At the start of the fall academic session, CAMBUS was short approximately 65 trained drivers. All CAMBUS routes were impacted by service reductions implemented due to the staffing shortage.

There has been a notable increase in applications following hiring efforts that include raising the starting wage and increasing the hiring incentive bonus. CAMBUS has hired 50 new drivers since the start of the fall session, and 40 drivers have begun or finished training. The training process, which includes obtaining a Class B Commercial Driver’s License, takes approximately six to eight weeks to complete.

CAMBUS continues to accept applications and hire new student drivers. As more drivers complete training, CAMBUS will continue to announce increases in services.
