Riders of University of Iowa CAMBUS can now use a transportation app called Transit. The application offers many features making riding public transportation convenient and easy. Features available to riders include trip-planning, improved notifications, and an interface that displays both predictions and live bus locations in one screen.
Transit will replace the current Bongo app. There is no cost to the university or riders to use the application. Transit is available for download on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Riders can begin using the application on Thursday, November 14 for CAMBUS predictions and trip-planning.
The improved and expanded features of Transit can make the experience riding CAMBUS easier. The Transit interface displays nearby options and predicted departure times. Riders can also easily view a route’s daily schedule within the app. Riders using the app can also set reminders to be notified when to go to a bus stop. Transit is available in over 200 cities. Riders can use the same app in each city, making it easy to use when traveling.
CAMBUS is committed to improving rider satisfaction and serving the campus community. Feedback from riders about the features they expected from a passenger information application was a primary factor when evaluating options for an application.
