In response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, CAMBUS practices are being continually evaluated and adjusted so essential transportation services can continue to be provided. In addition to enhanced cleaning and disinfecting processes, transparent barriers have been installed to shield drivers so riders can enter through the front doors. CAMBUS is resuming front door boarding on Monday, Sept. 21. Riders should always enter through the front doors. Rear doors should only be used when exiting. Signage will be posted at the rear doors to remind riders to no longer enter the vehicle through the back doors.

Entering through the front doors only will help ensure riders are accurately counted by the driver. Boarding counts are saved in a database that allows CAMBUS to evaluate all boarding data by route, day, time, and stop to help plan routes and schedules. All riders entering through the front doors and exiting through the back doors will also reduce rider face-to-face interactions.

Accessibility

The Parking and Transportation Department is committed to promoting campus accessibility through mobility solutions for all students, staff, faculty, and visitors. In addition to fixed-route bus services, CAMBUS also operates a door-to-door paratransit bus service, called Bionic Bus.
