WEX FUEL CARDS ARE EXPIRING!!

You may have noticed that the expiration date on your Wright Express fuel card is at the end of May. We will be receiving the new cards soon and will need to replace the old cards. We will notify you when the new cards arrive, and we are ready to start exchanging them. Don’t forget that you will also need to swap out any non-vehicle WEX cards that your department may use to fuel other equipment.

Introducing the Fleet Services Remote Rental Kiosk

We are very excited to announce that we are in the process of implementing a kiosk location for rental vehicles in Hospital Parking Ramp 2 (HPR2). The new kiosk option will provide a convenient and easy way for faculty and staff on the West Campus to rent university vehicles and allows for 24/7 pick-up and return. The kiosk is located on Lower Level 1 of Hospital Ramp 2 (HPR2) inside the south elevator lobby, next to the Children’s Hospital discharge lobby.

Renting from the kiosk will allow customers the opportunity to save money by making partial day reservations. Rentals will be charged at a reduced rate for reservations less than 4 hours in duration.

How it works

  • When submitting a requisition for a vehicle, indicate that the pickup will be at ‘Hospital Ramp 2’ in the ‘Vehicle pick up location’ field. The pick up location field is just below where you specify the dates and times for the trip.
  • After the reservation is made a confirmation email and a link to a tutorial video will be sent to the driver and the initiator of the requisition showing how to use the kiosk.

Differences

  • Customers will be asked to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas. You will be able to use our on-site fuel or a local fuel credit card.
  • Due to the parking needs of hospital patients and their families, parking for personal vehicles is not available.

Yes, the season is upon us. No, not spring (this is Iowa after all), it is vehicle swap season! Please remember to clean out your vehicle prior to swapping, we have vacuums and cleaning supplies available for this purpose at the Fleet Services Office. Reminder, cleaning supplies are free and available year-round for all lease customers.

Orange you Glad you Completed our Survey?

When you pick up a vehicle at the shop after service there will be an orange hang tag with a short survey left on the rearview mirror. Please fill them out, management reviews every single one of them. Customer service is our top priority, these surveys help us know how we are doing and how we can better serve our customers. Just rip off the perforated top of the survey and place the card in campus mail.

Will Your Department Need a Vehicle for at Least Three (3) Months Over the Summer?

If you need a vehicle for at least three (3) months, it may be possible to use the monthly lease rate instead of the daily rate. The monthly rate is much cheaper, but you must keep the vehicle for at least three (3) months. If this would work for your department over the summer, check with us as soon as possible to make sure we have a vehicle available.

Fleet Services Factoid

Did you know that our Cube Truck has a name? One of our staff recently noticed that the lift gate on the back of the truck is an “Anthony” lift gate, prominently branded and visible when the lift is up. Next time you have a reservation for the truck, walk up to the counter and confidently proclaim “I am here to pick up Tony the truck,” and we will know exactly what you mean.
