The Health Sciences Academic Building will be built on the existing footprint of Parking Lot 14 and South Quad. Parking Lot 14 is closing on May 29, 2023. Hospital Parking Ramp 4 and the Fieldhouse Lot are the next closest public parking facilities and are located across the street on the west side of S. Grand Avenue.

The academic building is one of many projects related to the University of Iowa’s 10-year facilities master plan. After the new ramp’s anticipated completion in 2025, Hospital Parking Ramp 1 will be removed to make way for construction of the new UI Hospitals & Clinics inpatient tower. The projects outlined in the 10-year facilities master plan will modernize the delivery of education and patient care and will benefit patients, faculty, staff, and students.
