The Parking and Transportation Department is committed to promoting campus accessibility through mobility solutions for all students, staff, faculty, and visitors.  In addition to fixed-route bus services, CAMBUS also operates a door-to-door paratransit bus service, called "Bionic Bus".

UI Cambus is piloting new safety equipment on two buses that is intended to help transit operators be more aware of vulnerable road users, such as pedestrians and cyclists, and prevent collisions.

Rate changes proposed for UI parking permits to support facility maintenance

UI Parking and Transportation is seeking approval from the Iowa Board of Regents for parking permit rate increases starting July 1 to help fund necessary maintenance and improvements. Proposed rate increases vary by permit types and range from an increase of $1 per month to $6 per month.

University of Iowa CAMBUS will install improved bus stop signs across the campus this month. In addition to replacing worn signs, the signs feature a design overhaul to improve accessibility and system navigation.

New stall assignments at Health Sciences Interchange start Jan. 20

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 20, stall 1 is assigned to route 34 Research Park. Stall 3 is assigned to routes 42 Hawkeye-Pentacrest and 52 Finkbine-Pentacrest. Route 54 Hancher-Newton Road will use the VA Hospital and Hardin Library stops.

CAMBUS will operate academic routes and schedules beginning Tuesday, Jan. 20. Due to the university holiday, academic weekend schedules will operate Monday, Jan. 19.

Due to a temporary staffing shortage, service during the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, Dec. 24 will be reduced for the following routes: 34 Research Park, 41 Hawk Lot-Hospital, 42 Hawkeye-Pentacrest, 51 Hospital-Finkbine/Arena, and 52 Finkbine-Pentacrest.
