As the fall semester gets underway, here are six ongoing projects that may affect travel around campus.

During home football games, CAMBUS provides shuttle services from select parking lots to near Kinnick Stadium. In addition to the extra shuttle service, regular CAMBUS routes are modified.

CAMBUS Scholarships have been awarded to five student employees for the fall 2023 semester.

Couto (BBA72), who in recent years dedicated his philanthropy to establishing the CAMBUS Scholarship, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 22, 2023. Couto has made a lasting mark on the campus and CAMBUS is incredibly grateful for his generosity.

During the the Fare Free Iowa City fare free pilot program, the UPASS program for Iowa City Transit will be suspended and the UPASS program for Coralville Transit will continue with no changes. 

As part of Automotive Service Professionals Month, the Parking and Transportation department is highlighting the important work of the nine full-time and 11 part-time student staff that maintain and repair the university’s fleet of buses and vehicles.

University of Iowa’s CAMBUS recognizes Kristina Dibert as the 2023 Support Person of the Year. Dibert began working at CAMBUS as a bus operator and was promoted to student mechanic in July 2021.

On Saturday, June 10, CAMBUS co-hosted the Iowa Public Transit Association's State Bus Roadeo. 18 drivers representing 8 transit agencies across Iowa competed in large bus and mini-bus courses in Parking Lot 55 – Hancher in Iowa City.

University of Iowa’s CAMBUS recognizes Scott Kerno as the 2023 Driver of the Year. Transit service providers across Iowa each nominate an employee annually to be honored by the Iowa Public Transit Association (IPTA) for their commitment to providing safe and friendly service.
