CAMBUS temporary service reductions due to driver staff shortage beginning Aug. 30, 2021

UI CAMBUS will be temporarily reducing frequency on some routes beginning Monday, Aug. 30 in response to a driver staff shortage. Routes that will have reduced frequency: 31 Red Route and 32 Blue Route, 35A Interdorm-WCTC, 41 Hawk Lot-Hospital, 51 Hospital-Finkbine/Arena, and 52 Finkbine-Pentacrest.

CAMBUS introduces route numbers to route naming system

University of Iowa CAMBUS will begin using route numbers an additional identifier of its 14 routes beginning July 2021. Route numbers are being added to the route name following a recommendation from the Iowa City Area Transit Study (ICATS).

Parking and Transportation improves parking system with LPR technology

University of Iowa Parking and Transportation has implemented a license plate recognition (LPR) system that allows a vehicle license plate to also be used as the university parking permit. Beginning Aug. 1, most faculty, staff, and student permit holders will not need to display a physical permit in their vehicles. LPR increases parking efficiency, provides convenience for permit holders, and greatly reduces the amount of paper and plastic waste produced.
