I-PASS and K-Tag Rate and Fee Change

Starting January 1, 2022, our I-PASS and K-Tag daily fee will be reduced from $5.00 per day to $3.00 per day. In addition to the reduction in daily fee, we will be instituting a $5.00 administrative fee for the processing of each missed toll incurred while traveling in a University vehicle. It is a lot more labor-intensive for us to figure out and charge these missed tolls. Our hope is that lowering the daily fee will encourage customers to request a toll transponder in advance to avoid missed tolls altogether.

A wet or icy parking lot creates a slip-and-fall hazard for any driver. As winter approaches, it is increasingly important to take the time to use safety procedures when entering and exiting vehicles and equipment. This is especially important for anyone who uses heavy equipment or works on unstable ground. Be aware that environmental conditions like wet mud or grass can create similarly hazardous and slippery situations. To climb in and out of vehicles and equipment safely, the key is to always maintain three points of contact with the equipment. Now Serving: Winter Blend Diesel Fuel

For those of you who use diesel fuel in your University vehicles or equipment, we have switched to our winter diesel blend. The winter blend should ease starting concerns on those cold mornings. We also include an additive to ensure the fuel does not gel up in the fuel lines. Make sure you fill up your tanks in advance so you are ready for those frosty mornings.

Longer-term Parking

Sometimes a vehicle needs to be parked or sit for an extended period of time. Here are some pretty simple tips to consider when parking a vehicle for an extended period of time. Park the vehicle away from grassy areas, like in the middle of a parking lot. This makes it harder for animals to crawl inside the vehicle and chew on wiring. It is quite remarkable the damage some critters are able to do to an electrical system. Also, double check to make sure there are not any interior lights left on and don’t leave anything of value in plain sight.

Holiday Hours

During the period between December 27th and January 14^th, our office will be closing at 5:00 p.m. With the holidays fast approaching, please be aware of some modified office hours during this time.

• The office is closed November 25^th-26^th, December 23^rdand 24^th, and December 31^st
• Our office will be open from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. from December 28^th through January 14^th
• Closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 17^th
• Regular hours will resume Tuesday, January 18^th

If you need a vehicle during a holiday closure, you may pick up the vehicle on the last business day before your trip begins, after 4:00 p.m. Please make a note of when the charges should begin in the “Remarks/Notes” field when submitting the requisition.

The app allows you to search by lowest price, brand, distance, or location and get maps and directions to stations. Also, if you are seeking out a specific fuel type, the app has listings of stations that also offer Diesel, E85, and CNG. You can use the app for your personal vehicle as well as your University vehicle. This app is free to download at your favorite app store and there are no in-app charges.
