On Monday, Sept. 8, public parking at the Recreation Center Lot adjacent to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center transitioned to a mobile payment zone, and the gates of the parking lot will remain open permanently. The change will better serve the variety of customers in this area and reduce future the costs related to parking equipment upgrades.

From 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, public users will park in spaces marked with signs for mobile payment zones and pay for their hourly parking using the app, website, or text. Outside of those hours, drivers may park for free and park in any open space in the Recreation Center Lot.

Previously, payment was required 24/7, so this change offers more flexibility for evening and weekend use.

Spaces not marked as mobile payment zone are reserved for Parking Lot 11 permits from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. A valid Parking Lot 11 permit is required to park in these spaces during those hours, and a citation will be issued if you park in a reserved space without a valid permit.

Outside of permit hours, these spaces are open for public parking, which includes permit holders.
