Patient parking ambassadors will start Dec. 8 at Parking Ramp 4 to continue improving parking for patients and their families on UI Health Care’s university campus.
On weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., patient parking ambassadors monitor ramp use, direct vehicles to appropriate parking locations, assist with basic wayfinding questions, and help connect patients with other resources. An ambassador may ask drivers to confirm their appointment or if they are accompanying or visiting a patient before entering.
Patient parking ambassadors were introduced earlier this year at Parking Ramp 2 and have improved open parking capacity and assisted patients.
Parking on UI Health Care’s university campus
Parking Ramps 1, 2, and 4 are reserved for patients and their visitors from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. On weeknights, weekends, and holidays, Parking Ramps 1, 2, and 4 are open to the public, including UI faculty and staff.
The Hawkeye Parking Ramp, Parking Ramp 3, Newton Road Ramp, and Field House Lot are available for short-term, flexible parking for faculty, staff, students, and non-patient visitors, including vendors and contractors. Employees who park on the university campus while at work are encouraged to purchase a parking permit and park in their designated area.
