Make sure all vehicle information is entered accurately as your license plate will be your permit. Failure to accurately provide your vehicle information will result in a citation.

You will need to retrieve a parking access card from Parking Services to utilize this permit.

How to cancel your permit

To cancel your permit you will need to complete the Cancel Permit Form. You will be charged for the permit until it is cancelled or expires.  You will receive a refund if cancelled before the end of the semester as we prorate by half month. If you fail to cancel your permit you are responsible for the time the permit was active. Your refund will be based on the date you complete the cancellation form.

Using your permit

Present the parking access card to the face of the card reader, which resembles a bullseye. Hold access card steady and parallel to the reader. If parking facility sign indicates full, you will need to go to the next available facility.

The student, standard, or graduated rates apply for use outside of the NW Privilege hours and are charged through your U-Bill. Visit transportation.uiowa.edu and click on the link “View my Parking Access Card Transactions” to view your transactions.

The parking access card must be scanned even when the parking gates are up, including on university holidays. Failure to use your parking access card to either enter or exit will result in the daily maximum fee being charged.

Never share, transfer, or pass-back a parking access card. Each incidence will result in a daily maximum charge of $20. Repeated misuse will result in cancelation of privileges.
