On Monday, Sept. 8, public parking at the Recreation Center Lot adjacent to the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center transitioned to a mobile payment zone with payment required 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

In addition to the extra shuttle service, regular CAMBUS routes are modified during home football games on Saturdays.

Starting Monday, Aug. 18, patient parking ambassadors will begin to help ensure parking is available for patients and their families in Parking Ramp 2.

CAMBUS will operate academic routes and schedules beginning Saturday, Aug. 23. Please note that service may be adjusted on some dates due to university holidays.

On Monday, Aug. 4, new parking equipment that is credit card only will be installed at the North Campus Parking Ramp to replace aging equipment.

For 30 years, the University of Iowa’s employee van pool program has offered Mike Hoenig more than just a ride to work. It has also enriched his experience by expanding his network and offering opportunities to learn about areas outside his department.

On June 14, CAMBUS drivers competed in a “bus roadeo.” The annual bus roadeo is a friendly competition amongst Cambus student staff that tests their driving skills in a ten-part obstacle course.

Student permit sales for fall 2025 – spring 2026 will begin Friday, Aug. 1 for all permit types except residence hall permits. Permit sales for students living in a residence hall will begin on Thursday, Aug. 7.

University of Iowa’s CAMBUS recognizes Michelle Sorto as the 2025 Support Person of the Year. The award was established by Cambus in 2019 to recognize the support staff who serve in behind-the-scenes roles to keep the transit system operating smoothly.

Vehicle rental kiosk at Parking Ramp 2 will be removed on Aug. 1. All future rentals must be picked up and returned at the main Fleet Services location at 155 W. Harrison St. The change is being made to prepare for the closure of Parking Ramp 1 and to free up more parking in Ramp 2 for hospital patients.
