On Friday, Jan. 2, the Recreation Center Parking Lot will resume operating as a gate-controlled facility and the mobile payment zone will be eliminated. Reverting to a gate-controlled facility will simplify parking and provide additional flexibility for the variety of parking needs in this area of campus.
Public parking
Public users will take a transaction ticket when entering and pay when exiting by debit or credit card and will have access to the parking facility 24 hours a day, seven days a week as space allows.
There will be no designated permit spaces, and users, whether permit or public, will be able to park in any open space.
Permit parking
Parking Lot 11 permit holders will use a parking access card to enter and exit the facility.
Night weekend privileges
Night weekend (NW) permits and parking privileges allow free parking for permit holders in some gated UI parking facilities during specific night and weekend hours. Visit the webpages for student night weekend permits and faculty and staff night weekend privileges for details about how each program works.
