See the parking map for facility location. University Club Lot is located on the north side of Melrose Avenue between Finkbine Commuter Drive and Birkdale Court. 

Public Transportation

Both Iowa City Transit and CAMBUS provide service to and from Parking Lot 73, University Club. The closest bus stops are Melrose Ave & Emerald Street and Melrose Ave @ IC Fire Station #2. 

CAMBUS routes

University Club parking lot receives the same level of service as the Hawkeye Parking Lot for routes 41 Hawk Lot-Hospital and 43 Hawkeye-Interdorm. All buses are westbound to the Hawk Lot before returning to the WCTC. The ride time is approximately 3-5 minutes longer than those boarding at the Hawkeye Parking Lot.

Iowa City Transit Routes

Primary route is #10 West Iowa City, which travels both east and westbound on Melrose with stops at the University Club parking lot (north side of the road to drop-off at parking lot, south side of road to go towards campus). Route 10 serves UIHC, Newton Road, and Pentacrest. 

Iowa City Transit is fare-free starting Aug 1, 2023, therefore, no bus pass is required during the duration of the Fare Free Iowa City pilot program.

Route 10 operates:  

  • Year-round weekdays: 30-minute frequency 6:26am-7:26pm 

  • Year-round weekday evenings: 60-minute frequency from 7:26pm-9:26pm 

  • Year-round Saturdays: 60-minute service 8:26am-7:26pm

Permit Information

Event impacts 

Parking Lot 73 is on occasion used for events. Please abide by posted signs and do not park in coned off areas. 

For Hawkeye Football gameday, all vehicles must be removed by 6 p.m. the day before a home game. 

Tuesdays between mid-May and late-September, the University Heights Farmers Market will use a portion of the parking lot. Please do not park in spaces indicated as “no parking” or with cones. 

Employees permits

Parking Lot 73 has been offered as an alternate parking location for permit holders reassigned from Parking Lot 43, 65, or 75. 

University Club – Lot 73 is available for all eligible employees to join the parking waitlist and offers will be made after the lot expansion project is complete.
