University of Iowa’s CAMBUS recognizes Scott Kerno as the 2023 Driver of the Year. Transit service providers across Iowa each nominate an employee annually to be honored by the Iowa Public Transit Association (IPTA) for their commitment to providing safe and friendly service.

On June 3, CAMBUS drivers competed in a “bus roadeo.” The annual bus roadeo is a friendly competition amongst CAMBUS student staff to test their driving skills in a ten-part obstacle course.

Parking Lot 14 is closing on May 29, 2023 due to construction of the Health Sciences Academic Building. A new parking lot adjacent to the previous Parking Lot 14 location will reopen late 2023.

UI Fleet Services will be releasing a new version of the Fleet Services Requisition on June 1 with enhanced abilities and efficiencies. The Fleet Services Requisition is the form used to rent university vehicles on a short-term basis.

CAMBUS will operate summer service Saturday, May 13, 2023 through Friday, August 18, 2023. During summer, some routes will have decreased service or will not operate due to different campus needs, decreased demand, and available staffing.

On March 30, Iowa Workforce Development announced UI CAMBUS, among others, was awarded funds from the Iowa Entry-Level Driver Training Program (ELDT).

The University of Iowa’s door-to-door, demand-response Bionic Bus service can now be scheduled on the free Cambus Now app.
