University of Iowa’s CAMBUS recognizes Michelle Sorto as the 2025 Support Person of the Year. The award was established by Cambus in 2019 to recognize the support staff who serve in behind-the-scenes roles to keep the transit system operating smoothly.

Vehicle rental kiosk at Parking Ramp 2 will be removed on Aug. 1. All future rentals must be picked up and returned at the main Fleet Services location at 155 W. Harrison St. The change is being made to prepare for the closure of Parking Ramp 1 and to free up more parking in Ramp 2 for hospital patients.

CAMBUS routes will detour on Monday, June 30 – Thursday, July 3 due to the Iowa City Downtown District Block Party event and construction.

Starting July 1, the University of Iowa will change hourly parking rates for the first time since 2016 to simplify parking across campus. The standard hourly rate will be $1.75 an hour and will be implemented as a single rate across campus in place of the exiting rate structure that varies by location, time of entry, and duration of stay.

UI Fleet Services office and rental fleet operations will move to a new location at 175 Hawkeye Drive starting June 25, 2025. The current location on West Harrison Street will close, and all vehicle rentals, lease services, and office visits will transition to the new site. Service and maintenance will continue at the Cambus Maintenance Facility.
